The production of “Scirocco,” the first co-production between Hungary and Morocco in the world of cinema, has successfully concluded, as announced by the National Film Institute of Hungary, a key supporter of the project.
According to a report by the MTI news agency, the Hungarian production team has recently returned home after an intense 38-day filming journey across Moroccan landscapes, including the Sahara, Marrakesh, Casablanca, and Tarfaya. This creative endeavor was helmed by Moroccan director Yassine Marco Marroccu.
Andrea Taschler, the Hungarian producer of the film, shared that the crew’s path had almost crossed with the epicenter of the devastating earthquake that struck the country on September 8, having shot the film there just a few days earlier. The film’s team extends their heartfelt condolences to the families of the earthquake victims.
The filming commenced in May and encompassed various locations in Hungary. Post-production work on “Scirocco” is set to commence shortly, with the film scheduled to make its debut in Hungarian cinemas next year.
